Ohhhh my heart - to relive this wedding even just by prepping this post has been the best of the best. Maddie & Patrick not only felt like friends, but had I not already planned a wedding for myself - I would have stolen so many ideas from how they planned their own day! It felt like fresh air being among these two and their families for this intimate ceremony, not to mention this group produces the cutest tiny humans around.
The day began at the family camp on Witch Lake in Northern Michigan surrounded by just the pairs immediate families (+2 best friends!). When it came time to say I Do, they loaded pontoon boats and headed to a beautiful little island in the middle of the lake, covered in trees and wild flowers. Everyone held their breath during the ceremony - as the weather radar had shown a massive rain storm to appear at the very moment they were to say their vows - but to our absolute amazement, nothing more than dark clouds and a cool wind swept through! They celebrated with champagne, the sun said hello for the perfect moment as we paddled through the water in vintage canoes, and all was right with the world. *happy sigh* - this was a good one, folks.
